Hailing from Iran, Pan Meng (Parvaneh Esmaili Andehkordi) is now a graduate student in the Department of General Surgery at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Since setting foot in China in 2019, her story with medicine has quietly unfolded along the Belt and Road.
“Becoming a doctor has been my dream since childhood.” Influenced by her father, a surgeon, and her mother, a nurse, Pan Meng developed a strong yearning for medicine. At the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of XJTU, she has been exposed to advanced hepatobiliary surgical techniques and has continually absorbed cutting-edge knowledge through international academic exchanges.
“I hope to promote medical collaboration among countries so that more people can access high-quality health services,” Pan Meng said. Looking ahead, she hopes to bring what she has learned in China back to her hometown, open a hospital with her father, advance Iran-China medical cooperation, and benefit more patients.
