Recently, the 26th Congress of the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery (ASVS) was successfully held in Singapore. Professor Yang Lin, Deputy Director of the Department of Vascular Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was invited to attend the congress as International Faculty. He participated in both the plenary and parallel sessions, where he shared with international peers the achievements and progress his team has made in recent years in the surgical and interventional treatment of lower extremity arterial occlusive disease. He also engaged in in-depth academic exchanges with vascular surgery experts from Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region.

At the plenary session, Professor Yang Lin presented his team’s research findings on atherosclerotic occlusive disease of the lower extremities, with a particular focus on multicenter study results concerning stent technologies and drug-coated balloon (DCB) technologies in the treatment of lower limb arterial occlusion. At a parallel session on the following day, Professor Yang shared the experience of the team of XJTU regarding endovascular treatment options for lower extremity atherosclerotic occlusion.

The ASVS Congress is the largest professional event in Asia dedicated to surgical and interventional treatment of vascular diseases. It is hosted each year by the country of the serving ASVS Congress President and brings together vascular surgery experts from across Asia and around the world for academic exchanges. In recent years, the vascular surgery team of the FAH has made remarkable progress in clinical practice, teaching, and scientific research, while actively participating in both international and domestic exchanges to broaden academic depth and enhance disciplinary influence.
