On the morning of August 29, 2019, Professor Stephen Jane, Fellow of Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, Head of Central Clinical School of Monash University and Director of Research Alfred Hospital, visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University for academic exchange. The meeting was presided over by President Shi Bingyin. She Junjun, Assistant to the President of the hospital, Professor Zhang Lei from School of Public Health of Xi 'an Jiaotong University Health Science Center, Zhang Chengsheng, Director of Cancer Center, Wang Huaiyu, Deputy Director of Department of Hematology, Professor Li Yan from Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office attended the meeting.

First, President Shi Bingyin introduced the development history of the hospital in the past 6 decades and briefly described the advantageous disciplines of the hospital. Professor Stephen Jane introduced the features of scientific research and clinical disciplines of Central Clinical School. The experts attending the meeting shared the construction of the hospital's scientific research platform with Australian counterparts. During the communication and exchange, Professor Stephen Jane highly approved the developmental achievements of our hospital. Subsequently, bilateral sides held in-depth discussions regarding further cooperation in scientific research, joint talent training and talent exchange.

After the meeting, Professor Stephen Jane and his colleagues visited the Biobank, Hematology Laboratory and Precision Medicine Center. He expressed that the delegate team obtained fruitful outcomes during the visit and expected that bilateral sides can keep in contact, strengthen cooperation and strive to establish a first-class academic platform.
