From May 8 to 11, 2025, the 14th Westlake International Conference of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology and the International Conference on Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound, jointly organized by the International Contrast Ultrasound Society, Zhejiang Provincial Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, was held in Hangzhou. Li Xiaojing, a graduate student from the Department of Ultrasound Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was invited to attend the conference and deliver a presentation on her research paper. Her paper poster was awarded the First Prize for Academic Poster Presentation, making her one of only two recipients nationwide. This marks the first time a graduate student from our department has received such a prestigious honor at a national ultrasound medicine conference.

The Westlake International Conference of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WICUMB) is one of the world’s three major conferences on contrast-enhanced ultrasound. It brings together leading experts from both China and abroad in the field of ultrasound medicine, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies and key challenges in the discipline. This year’s conference attracted thousands of scholars from various regions.

Li Xiaojing began her standardized residency training in the Department of Ultrasound Medicine at the FAH of XJTU in 2023. In 2024, she was admitted as a graduate student majoring in Ultrasound Medicine at XJTU School of Medicine. Under the guidance of Professor Wang Feiqian, she has systematically studied the theories and operational techniques of contrast-enhanced ultrasound. From fundamental theories to clinical practices, she has gradually developed her diagnostic skills in contrast-enhanced ultrasound through weekly literature seminars, case discussions, and one-on-one mentorship from her supervisor. This award marks not only a significant milestone in her personal academic journey, but also a reflection of the department’s rigorous training system and her supervisor’s wholehearted guidance.
