On April 23, 2025, three neuro-rehabilitation experts from the Uzbekistan Tashkent Medical Workers’ Professional Qualification Development Center and Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Director Mirdzhuraev Elbek Mirshavkatovich; Chief Expert Jahongir Elbek ugli Mirdjuraev; and Associate Professor Akilov Jahangir Khabibullaevich, visited the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Daxingshan Temple Division of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) for a one-day exchange and visit on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technology.

In the morning, the expert group conducted a comprehensive review of the clinical layout and service system of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, both in the outpatient and inpatient areas. They showed strong interest in aspects such as smart rehabilitation, multiple sub-specialty teams, and traditional rehabilitation. They paid particular attention to the application scenarios of TMS technology in multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment. Both sides discussed the similarities and differences between Uzbekistan and China in the fields of post-stroke functional reconstruction and neuro-regulation, laying the foundation for future technical cooperation.

In the afternoon, the neuro-regulation team held an academic exchange. Associate Researcher Dun Wanghuan presented a talk titled "Application of TMS in Hand Function", outlining the theoretical system and practical applications of TMS technology. Therapist Wu Wenping provided a systematic explanation of the standardized operation procedures of TMS through video demonstrations and flowcharts. Physician Guo Jing discussed an innovative multi-modal electrophysiological assessment system for a typical case of chronic consciousness disorder. At the Neuro-Regulation Center, Therapist Li Hui’s team demonstrated the operation and assessment of the TMS equipment.

Professor Qiao Jin, Director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, concluded that this exchange was not only a technical sharing but also marked the deep integration of FAH with the Uzbek medical system. In the future, we will leverage our department’s technical advantages as a training base for brain function testing and regulation rehabilitation technologies under the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine. We plan to collaborate with Uzbek institutions to jointly establish the "China-Uzbekistan Neuro-Regulation Joint Research Center" and promote the implementation of cooperation in mutual recognition of TMS technology standards, remote consultations, and multi-center clinical trials.
