Recently, the National Health Commission announced the list of National High-quality Service Affiliation for Maternal and Infant Safety (2018). The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University was among the list.

In April 2018, the National Health Commission printed and issued the "Action Plan for Maternal and Infant Safety (2018-2020)" and implemented the Action Plan for Maternal and Infant Safety nationwide, aiming to accelerate the implementation of five systems for maternal and infant safety, promote the persistent improvement of service quality, enhance the capability of rescue and treatment services for critically ill pregnant women, provide safe, effective, convenient and warm maternal and infant health services and fully guarantee maternal and infant safety.

From May to June 2019, on the basis of comprehensive understanding of the implementation of the action plan in different provinces, the National Health Commission conducted a special investigation on the implementation of the action plan in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi and Shaanxi provinces and delivered random on-spot inspection on the recommended National High-quality Service Affiliation for Maternal and Infant Safety.
