On May 14, Julie Buckingham, President of Brunel University London, along with Richard Emery, Director of Department of International Exchange, Monica Yang, Chief Officer of Department of International Cooperation, Hua Zha, Vice President of Research Center of College of Engineering, Bin Wango, Vice President of International Exchange Office of College of Engineering visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University. All guests successively visited the Outpatient Building, Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery, Biobank and Experimental Center for Clinical Skills.

Shi Bingyin, President of our hospital, Vice President Liu Chang, and Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office welcomed the delegation. The delegation first visited the Outpatient Building. President Shi introduced the information of the Outpatient Department. Afterwards, the delegation was invited to watch the process of Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery in the Operating Room. Zhu Guodong, Associate professor from Department of Urology demonstrated the exquisite surgical techniques and the precise operation of Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery to the guests.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Biobank, accompanied and introduced by Wang Yawen, Director of Biobank and Professor Liu Bing. President Julie Buckingham highly recognized the internationalized, standardized and informationized Biobank, which integrated preservation of biological sample and construction of sample information resource. Finally, the delegation visited the Experimental Center for Clinical Skills, accompanied and introduced by Director Bai Hongliang.

The delegation from Brunel University London expressed that this visiting for academic exchange deepened mutual understanding between bilateral sides and hoped to extend in-depth cooperation with our hospital in terms of medical treatment, teaching and scientific research.
