On May 2-4, the 5th Conference on Chinese Geriatrics and Technology Innovation was held in Chengdu Convention Center, Sichuan Province. Shi Bingyin, President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University was elected as the Vice Chairman of the 1st Council of Chinese Geriatrics Society. Associate Professor Zhang Wei from Department I of Geriatrics of our hospital was elected as the Deputy Secretary of the 1st Academic Working Committee of Homocysteine. Associate Professor Chen Lihong from Ward 5 of Jianyuan & International Medical Center of our hospital was elected as a Member of the committee.
More than 5,000 delegates from all over the country attended the conference. A total of 25 forums related to geriatric medicine were launched during the conference. Ren Yanping, Deputy Director of Department I of Geriatrics and Professor Feng Jun from Department of Cardiovascular Surgery delivered themed lectures at different forums.
In recent years, multiple young and middle-aged experts in our hospital have made persistent explorations and obtained remarkable achievements in the diagnosis, treatment and research of geriatric diseases. They have conducted academic exchanges at national conferences and received unanimous approval and recognition from their peers.
