From August 23 to 24, 2024, the "100th Session of Special Activity of West Advanced Salon for Headache and Vertigo" was held in Xi'an. Professor Luo Guogang, Director of Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), served as the Chairman of this event, which consisted of two sections: Case Competition and Headache Forum.
On the afternoon of August 23, the meeting was officially launched. Professor Li Yansheng from Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine delivered an opening speech. Professor Lei Qi from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital shared the latest research progress in migraine treatment.
In the session of Case Competition, prestigious professors from PLA General Hospital, Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and other hospitals were invited as judges. The contestants made diagnosis and analyzed all types of primary and secondary headaches. After fierce competition, Physician Nie Jingjing from the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University grabbed the first prize. Physician Huo Kang from FAH and Physician Mao Shanying from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine received the second prizes. Physician Zhao Yong from Xi'an No.3 Hospital, Physician Fang Jinghuan from West China Hospital and Physician Jia Wenji from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University won the third prizes. Physician Ran Ye from PLA General Hospital gave an oral presentation on excellent headache cases. Finally, Physician Wei Meng from FAH reported the progress in the formulation of migraine treatment and prevention standards.
Headache Forum was held on the morning of August 24. Professor Yu Shengyuan and Professor Dong Zhao from PLA General Hospital, Professor Zhou Jiying from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Professor Chen Chunfu from Shandong Provincial Hospital, Professor Li Yansheng from Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Liu Yonghong from Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University, and Professor Jia Yi from Xi'an Gaoxin Hospital discussed the progress in the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary headaches and migraine comorbidity, and comprehensively illustrated the latest clinical guidelines and research results, respectively.
