On June 27, 2024, the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held the signing ceremony of memorandum of cooperation in medical education with International Medical College of International University of Kyrgyzstan and School of International Education of XJTU in No.707 meeting room of Science and Education Building of FAH. Aidaraliev Arsen Asylbekovich, President of International University of Kyrgyzstan, Vice President Baihodjoev Muratbek Seitkazievich, Vice President Maksatbek Anarbaev, Wu Chenxi, the representative in China, Lyu Yi, Vice President of XJTU and President of FAH, Wen Guangrui, Director of School of International Education were invited to attend the signing ceremony. Wu Yue, Assistant-to-President of FAH, and heads of relevant administrative departments also attended this event.
President Lyu Yi delivered a welcome speech, hoping that bilateral sides will further expand all-round cooperation in medicine, teaching and scientific research based on this joint training of medical talents, and make due contributions to the development of medical and health undertakings in countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative.
Aidaraliev Arsen Asylbekovich hoped that under the framework of China-Central Asia cooperation, the education quality for medical students will be improved by expanding educational cooperation between bilateral sides in the fields of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies, aiming to play a role in accelerating the development of central Asia research center.
Wen Guangrui introduced current situation of international students in this school. Since Vice President Hong Jun led a delegation to visit central Asia in May 2024, bilateral sides have conducted several rounds of discussions and established several cooperation agreements, hoping that starting from the signing of this memorandum of cooperation in medical education, both sides can further deepen mutual cooperation in clinical diagnosis and scientific research in the future.
President Lyu Yi, President Aidaraliev Arsen Asylbekovich and Director Wen Guangrui signed a memorandum of cooperation in medical cooperation on behalf of respective three parties, and then bilateral sides conducted cooperation, exchanges and negotiations.
This memorandum of cooperation in medical cooperation is a tripartite agreement among FAH, International Medical College of International University of Kyrgyzstan and School of International Education of XJTU, which mainly involves the training of medical students and resident physicians from Kyrgyzstan in China. Students from Kyrgyzstan are welcome to further study in China. Hopefully, bilateral sides can take this as a starting point, strengthen mutual cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan, thoroughly implement the spirit of China-Central Asia Summit, and enable China's programs to benefit more countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
