From March 16 to 17, 2019, "The Belt and Road Initiative" nationwide lecture tour (Xi’an) on ultrasound at the grass-roots level, hosted by Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association and organized by Ultrasound Physician Branch of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association, was launched in the ancient city of Xi'an, China. This conference was co-organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Tangdu Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Medical University, Xijing Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital. Top ultrasound experts in China were invited to attend this conference.
Professor Wang Maode, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Professor Nie Fang, Director of Ultrasound Medicine Center of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University and Vice Chairman of the Ultrasound Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association as a representative of Chairman He Wen, Professor Ruan Litao, Director of Ultrasound Imaging Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Chairman of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association, delivered opening remarks, respectively.
During the academic session, Professor He Wen, Director of Ultrasound Department of Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Chairman of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, delivered a speech entitled “Application of new ultrasound techniques in clinical practice”, illustrating the highlights in the ultrasound microimaging of blood flow, shear wave elastography, shear wave dispersion ultrasound, acoustic attenuation imaging and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.
Professor Ren Weidong, Director of Ultrasound Department of Shengjing Hospital affiliated to China Medical University and Standing Committee Member of Chinese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine of Chinese Medical Association, gave a lecture entitled "Application of i900 in heart diseases in clinical practice". He introduced the application of three-dimensional ultrasound in myocardial noncompaction, minor mitral chordae tendineae rupture and left atrial appendage occlusion surgery. Professor Ren also utilized two-dimensional ultrasound, color Doppler ultrasound, spectral Doppler ultrasound, and three-dimensional ultrasound to obtain multi-plane and multi-angle observation and make the diagnostic thinking explicit.
Professor Xie Xiaoyan, Director of Ultrasound Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, delivered a lecture entitled "Experience of applying new ultrasound techniques to treat complicated abdominal diseases". Professor Zhu Jia’an, Director of Ultrasound Department of Peking University People's Hospital and Chairman of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Expert Committee of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, gave a speech entitled "Discussion on the role of ultra-high frequency ultrasound in improving the accurate diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases".
Professor Nie Fang, Director of Ultrasound Medicine Center of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University delivered a lecture entitled "Application of ultrasound of lymph node in clinical practice", which deepened the understanding of the precise classification, segmentation and location of superficial lymph nodes and more clearly distinguished the ultrasound images of normal lymph nodes, lymphadenitis, lymphoid nuclei, cat-scratch disease, Kikuchi disease, giant lymph node hyperplasia,lymphoma and metastatic lymph nodes.
Professor Luo Yukun, Director of Department of Ultrasound Diagnosis of Chinese PLA General Hospital and Chairman of Ultrasound Expert Committee of Medical Imaging Quality Committee of China Quality Association for Pharmaceuticals, systematically and exhaustively illustrated the liver anatomy, lobe and segment, the understanding of diffuse, focal and vascular diseases of the liver, the application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in liver space-occupying lesions, and the preoperative assessment of blood stasis of the spleen in patients with portal hypertension by elastography,etc.
Professor Yang Min, Director of Ultrasound Department of Beijing Shijitan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Standing Committee Member of Obstetrics and Gynecology Expert Committee of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, gave a lecture entitled “Ultrasound diagnosis of fetal malformation in different prenatal stages”, illustrating the optimal timing, precautions, examination techniques and diagnostic criteria of ultrasound diagnosis of fetal malformation during different prenatal stages by selecting a large number of typical cases via texts and illustrations.
Professor Li Yingjia, Director of Ultrasound Medicine Department of Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University and Member of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, provided an explicit understanding of the application value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in detecting sentinel lymph nodes in patients with early-stage breast cancer.
Professor Yuan Lijun, Director of Ultrasound Department of Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University and Standing Committee Member of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, explicitly explained the principle, diagnostic thinking and ultrasound diagnostic criteria of varying stages of the left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and introduced the application value of each parameter in ultrasound evaluation.
Professor Ruan Litao, Director of Ultrasound Imaging Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, delivered a lecture entitled "Ultrasound diagnosis and interventional treatment of thyroid nodules", which covered the clinical experience of conventional ultrasound diagnosis, FNA and radiofrequency ablation, along with the introduction of indications and contraindications for invasive treatment.
