On May 20, 2023, the 3rd Chinese Public Hospital Performance Conference in conjunction with Chinese Public Hospital Performance Assessment Practice Gold Lever Award Ceremony 2022, jointly hosted by the editorial office of China Hospital CEO and Performance Reform Institute of Chinese Hospital (PRICH), were held in Changsha. Meng Xiaojun, Deputy Director of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Health Science Center and Director of Department of Hospital Administration, led relevant staff from Department of Hospital Operation and Administration, Medical Department, Department of Human Resources, Department of Integrated Surgery, Department of Anesthesiology and Department of Pharmacy to attend the conference.
Last year, the organizing committee of the conference solicited "Excellent Cases of Chinese Hospital Performance Assessment Practice" nationwide, which were evaluated from the single index to comprehensive performance of the innovation, feasibility and reproducibility of the themes and practice contents. Finally, more than 100 excellent cases were selected from over 500 submitted cases. Focusing on the core theme of "Promoting high-quality development by taking the opportunity of Chinese hospital performance assessment", the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of XJTU carried out multi-dimensional data analyses, sorted out and summarized the highlights of daily work. After joint efforts by multiple departments and intense competition, 6 excellent cases from the FAH grabbed the awards, with an award-winning rate of 60%. Among them, 3 cases received Distinguished Practice Awards and 3 cases of Outstanding Practice Awards, covering three dimensions of medical quality, operational efficiency and sustainable development. These cases discussed and summarized the connotation of Chinese hospital performance assessment and administration from different dimensions, and put forward targeted and innovative administration measures, which further provided novel ideas for Chinese hospital performance assessment and administration of the FAH.
How to balance the development of varying indexes and how to balance the four assessment elements of quality, safety, efficiency and degree of satisfaction, a "golden lever" was required to enhance the administration work of Chinese hospital performance assessment. At the conference, 3 hospitals were approved as "All-dimensional Performance Gold Lever Awards for Chinese Public Hospital Performance Assessment Practice 2022" nationwide through comprehensive evaluation of the hospital's score in Chinese hospital performance assessment, case award-winning rate, number of awards and organizational capability, etc. The FAH stood out from 200 hospitals and grabbed this grand award.
The FAH shined in this grand ceremony, which is a recognition of the administration philosophy of "promoting high-quality development by taking the opportunity of Chinese hospital performance assessment". By taking the opportunity of Chinese hospital performance assessment, the hospital will accurately pinpoint its own position during development and persistently improve medical service capability and refined administration level, contributing to the establishment of National Medical Center and high-quality development.
