On May 7, 2023, Shanghai Forum on Engineering Medicine was successfully hosted and held by Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Professor Jia Weiping, an outstanding alumnus of XJTU and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Lyu Yi, Standing Committee Member of Party Committee and Vice President of XJTU, Chen Teng, Standing Committee Member of Party Committee of XJTU and General Secretary of XJTU Health Science Center, Bai Xiaoxuan, Director of Development of Alumni Relations, He Changzhong and Meng Xiaojun, Deputy Directors of XJTU Health Science Center, Wang Maode, Executive Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of XJTU, Han Ju, Deputy Secretary of the FAH, Assistant-to-President Han Jianfeng, Li Zongfang, President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Liu Chang, General Secretary of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Li Ang, President of Hospital of Stomatology of XJTU and relevant administrative departments attended the meeting. Kong Xiangyun, President of Shanghai Alumni Association of XJTU, Wang Tongyan, General Secretary of Beijing Medical Alumni Association, Ye Xiaoming, President of Suzhou Alumni Association, Bai Xiaodong, General Secretary of Shanghai Alumni Association, and XJTU alumni in Shanghai gathered to discuss the development of medical industry in XJTU.
Kong Xiangyun, Jia Weiping and Lyu Yi delivered speeches, respectively, hoping that alumni from various majors can strengthen communication and make progress together, and gather the alumni with outstanding achievements in the field of life and health in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei circle, the Yangtze River Delta and the Greater Bay Area, thereby infusing new impetus into the development of XITU and affiliated hospitals. Chen Teng introduced the general situation and progress of the construction of National Medical Center of the FAH of XJTU. Bai Xiaoxuan, Wang Tongyan and Ye Xiaoming gave respective speeches, hoping that alumni can make concerted efforts to resolve key problems and "final step towards success" issues in the field of engineering medicine and promote the transformation of academic achievements.
The inaugural meeting of Medical Health Branch of Shanghai Alumni Association and the launching ceremony of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Workstation of XJTU Medical Alumni were chaired by Bai Xiaodong, General Secretary of Shanghai Alumni Association. Wang Nanping, Distinguished Professor of East China Normal University, doctoral supervisor and an alumnus of XJTU, was elected as President of Medical Health Branch, Yu Wenhao, Senior President of Global Clinical Affairs Supervision of Amadorbio and an alumnus of XJTU, Chen Xu, Director of Department of Neurology of Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital and the Sixth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Xuhui branch) and an alumnus of XJTU, were elected as Vice Presidents. Fan Shaofei, a partner of Sunshare Health Capital and an alumnus of XJTU, was elected as General Secretary. Fu Yong, Deputy Chief Physician and Associate Professor from Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital and an alumnus of XJTU, was elected as Executive Deputy Secretary. Academician Jia Weiping and other experts presented the flag to Medical Health Branch of Shanghai Alumni Association of XJTU. Lyu Yi and Chen Teng jointly presented the flag to Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Workstation of XJTU Medical Alumni.
In the session of special lecture, multiple alumni shared their work and achievements.
The alumni meeting was held at the critical time when the FAH was preparing for establishing National Medical Center, which fully reflected the founding concept of National Medical Center that "building the pillars of a power with national strength", showcased the re-integration of innovative ideas between the eastern and western regions, and served vivid practice of engineering medicine and industry-education integration.
