To strengthen and standardize professional training of neurosurgery, elevate the capability and level of clinicians, comprehensively promote the development of neurosurgery and the construction of clinical talent team and further enhance the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of Department of Neurosurgery, Special Capability Training Course for Cerebrovascular Surgery, hosted by National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center and organized by Department of Neurosurgery of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was held in Xi 'an from March 31 to April 1, 2023. More than 100 neurosurgeons nationwide attended the academic feast. As the Chairman of this meeting, Professor Xie Wanfu from Department of Neurosurgery in FAH delivered a speech.

On March 31, the exchange meeting of Neurosurgery Construction Center and the training session of surgical sharing and practical capability were launched. Representatives from 10 construction centers in Shaanxi province, Shanxi province and Chongqing actively discussed the development of neurosurgery construction centers.

During the sessions of surgical sharing and practical capability training, Deputy Chief Physician Bai Xiaobin, Deputy Chief Physician Qi Lei, Associate Research Professor Wang Jia and Attending Physician Ma Xudong from Department of Neurosurgery of FAH contributed intriguing surgical demonstrations. Meantime, Professor Song Jinning, Professor Xu Gang from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and Professor Xu Yangang from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital were invited as special guests to analyze and comment on surgical details and technical challenges. Finally, the trainees conducted on-site practical training.

On the morning of April 1, theoretical teaching session was officially started. Professor Zhang Dong from Beijing Hospital, Professor Wang Zhaohua and Professor Zhang Changwei from West China Hospital, Professor He Chuan from Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University, Professor Xu Gang from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Professor Xu Yangang from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and Professor Xie Wanfu, Professor Xu Gaofeng, Professor Song Jinning, Deputy Chief Physician Bai Xiaobin, Deputy Chief Physician Qi Lei, Associate Research Professor Wang Jia and Attending Physician Ma Xudong from FAH delivered in-depth illustrations of the treatment concept and research progress upon intracranial aneurysms and cerebrovascular diseases, such as cerebral arteriovenous malformation, dural arteriovenous fistula and moyamoya disease, and subsequently offered explicit explanations for the questions fromtrainees.
