During March 23-25, 2018, 5 personnel from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) review panel conducted a three-day medical laboratory re-assessment of the Laboratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Through consulting documents, records, field tests, personnel assessments, etc., the expert panel conducted a comprehensive review of the quality system of the laboratory. The President of the hospital, Shi Bingyin, Assistant Dean Han Jianfeng, and staff of Nursing Department, Medical Department and Laboratory Department participated in the related meetings.

On the morning of March 23, the first meeting was held in the Laboratory Department. Han Chengwu, director of the review panel from Beijing Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital, introduced the purpose, scope, basis as well as the positions and personnel to be involved, confirmed the schedule and division of labor, and announced the review methods and procedures. Chen Wei, Director of the Laboratory Department, gave an introduction to the establishment of the department system and quality management. Subsequently, under the leadership of the team leader, Zhou Yunli, Director of the Laboratory Department of Tianjin Medical University Affiliated Cancer Hospital, Yang Ji, Director of the Laboratory Department of Dongfang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Tongji University, Yang Xiaoli, Director of the Laboratory Department of Beijing Armed Police General Hospital and Jia Wei, Director of the Laboratory Department of General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University carefully performed on-site assessment work. In the afternoon of the same day, the clinical staff communication meeting was held.

On March 24, specimen collection and follow-up, clinical follow-up, and morphologic examination of the examination group were reviewed. At the last meeting convened on March 25, Director Han Chengwu announced the successful passage of the renewal review of the Laboratory Department. At the same time, he put forward the rectification requirements and the specific time.

The accreditation of medical laboratories is based on the international standard ISO15189 Medical Laboratory-Specific Requirements for Quality and Competence, which has international versatility and authority. This medical laboratory accreditation indicates once again that the Laboratory Department is equipped with the technical capabilities of ISO15189 to carry out tests. It can provide reliable inspection reports for clinical and patients, use CNAS National Laboratory Accreditation Marks and ILAC International Mutual Recognition Joint Marks within the scope of accreditation, and build a bridge for future exchanges with international counterparts.
