From November 4 to 6, 2022, the 6th International Specialty Nurses Conference was held online. On November 5, Nutrition Nursing Special Session was organized by Nursing Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Professor Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department, served as the Chairman of this special session and delivered a speech. With the theme "Nutrition is a vital tool to keep healthy”, the conference attracted more than 1000 online participants.
During the Nutrition Nursing Special Session, Professor Lu Qian, Member of National Academy of Sciences (NAS), Professor Xin Xia, Professor Shao Xiaoping and Professor Tian Yongming, prestigious nutrition nursing experts in China, were invited to conduct academic exchanges regarding nutrition risk screening and evaluation, application of B-mode ultrasound in enteral nutrition, nursing practice of severe enteral nutrition and safety management of enteral nutrition,etc. Besides, clinical cases sharing and manuscript writing topics were specially organized. Outstanding clinical nurses and scientific research experts shared their valuable cases and scientific research achievements.
In the Nutrition Nursing Special Session, Director Xin Xia gave a lecture entitled "Practice of enteral nutrition nursing for critically ill patients", shared the goal-oriented refined nutrition nursing in our hospital, presented the nutrition treatment and nursing of one case of multiple systemic injuries to share relevant experience of enteral nutrition specialty in our hospital in resolving the problems existing in nutrition therapy via different approaches. Li Wenwen, Secretary of Professional Group of Enteral Nutrition Nursing and Chief Nurse of Department of Neurology in our hospital, gave a lecture entitled "Nutrition nursing of a patient with brainstem infarction after subtotal gastrectomy" and illustrated the clinical application of enteral nutrition semi-curing feeding in patients with recurrent reflux and aspiration.
In the Nutrition Nursing Special Session of the 6th International Specialty Nurses Conference, experts shared the latest progress, specialty technology and precise management of nutrition nursing at home and abroad. In the process of resolving clinical problems, literature review combined with reform and innovation catering to Chinese situations have become a novel trend in clinical nutrition nursing. Nursing team in our hospital will forge ahead to drive the development of nutrition nursing specialty in the direction of standardization, innovation and internationalization.
