From September 4 to 9, 2023, Professor Yang Jian, Director of Department of Radiology of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was invited to attend the Asian-Oceanian Society of Radiology (AOSOR) “Asian Tutorial” 2023) organized by AOSOR in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Professor Yang Jian gave two academic lectures entitled “Neonatal brain development and injury in MR neurology” and “Low dose CT: What Radiologists need to know”, respectively. He also answered the questions and delivered heated discussion with participating scholars, receiving widespread recognition. During his visit to the University Medical Center (UMC) of Nazarbayev University, Professor Yang Jian participated in the morning shift and film reading seminar in Department of Radiology of Heart Surgery Center of UMC and National Women and Children Clinical Center, and conducted in-depth discussion with Professor Tairkhan Dautov, Director of the UMC Imaging Center, and Professor Zhanar Abdrakhmanova, Director of Department of Radiology of Astana Medical University, aiming to prepare for strengthening cooperation in brain development of infants with congenital heart diseases, development of low-dose CT technology for children and artificial intelligence technology for radiology. This visit is also an active response to the disciplinary research of radiology conducted by the China-Central Asia Summit 2023 in Xi'an, deepening the understanding of the field of radiology among 5 Central Asian countries and strengthening mutual academic exchanges and friendship.
