Tian Gang serves as the Chief Physician, Professor, Doctor of Medicine, Doctoral Tutor, and Deputy Director of the Department of Cardiology. From 2001 to 2003, she won the postdoctoral fellowship of the Royal Society and engaged in postdoctoral research in Oxford University. At present, she serves as the standing committee member of Hypertension Committee of Chinese Medical Association, standing committee member of Hypertension Committee of National Heart Disease Center, standing committee member of Elderly Health Management Committee of Geriatric Society of China, standing committee member of Chest Pain Committeeof China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare. She is the memberof the following organizations: Women's Heart Health Group of Cardiovascular Disease Branch, Chinese Medical Association; Hypertension Group of Cardiovascular Disease Branch, Chinese Medical Association; Cytobiology Branch Young Committee, Chinese Medical Association; Chest Pain Committee, Chinese Medical Doctor Association. As a certified expert of Chinese Chest Pain Center of Cardiovascular Disease Branch, Chinese Medical Association, Professor Tian is also the member of International Society of Hypertension, member of Hypertensive Related Metabolic Work Committee(Group) of Hypertension Committee, Chinese Medical Doctor Association, director of Chinese Hypertension League, vice director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Committee, Shaanxi Society of Rehabilitation Medicine, vice director of Hypertension Committee, Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, standing committee member of Cardiovascular Branch, Shaanxi Provincial Medical Association, member of Hypertension Committee, Chinese Medicine Education Association, member of Target Organ Protection and Blood Pressure Management Group of Hypertension Branch, China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare, as well as the editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Hypertension, Journal of Clinical Cardiology, Journal of Chinese Practical Diagnosis and Treatment, and Clinical Journal of Medical Officers. She also serves as the expert for assessing the cases to be included into China Professional Degree Teaching Case Center, and also a major member of“Key Laboratory of Environment and Disease Related Genes, Ministry of Education”.

Professor Tian has been engaged in clinical treatment and study of cardiovascular diseases for more than 28 years, and has obtained rich clinical experience and high academic level in the fields of hypertension, heart failure and coronary heart disease. She has made remarkable results especially in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic syndromes and clinical hypertension. She has successively hosted 2 NSFC projects, 2 sub-projects of the12^th Five-Year key scientific and technological project, 1 sub-project of 863 program and 1 sub-project of 973 program, as well as 5 programs of Shaanxi Province Research Foundation. Meanwhile, she has also participatedin and completed a number of national scientific and technological researches and international cooperation projects. So far, she has published more than 300 academic papers related to hypertension, including more than 30 SCI papers on Hypertension, Journal of Biological Chemistry, and Hypertension Research. She has participated in domestic and international academic conferences of hypertension and offered presentations for many times, edited 1 academic monograph and participated in editing 14 academic monographs, directed more than 60 doctors and master graduate students, and won the second prize of Shaanxi Provincial Prize for Progress in Science and Technology for two times.
