Sino-U.S. Vein Summit Forum hosted by the Vascular Surgery Department was successfully held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University on April 16, 2018. Professor Fedor Lurie, the top expert on vein diseases in the United States, visited and served as a powerful guest at the forum.

Professor Fedor Lurie is Chairman of the U.S. Vein Forum, professor of the University of Michigan, and Director of the JOBST Vascular Research Institute. He has published more than 200 SCI articles in top journals of vascular surgery, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, etc. As a reviewer, he reviewed 38 SCI papers and edited the sixth edition of the vascular surgery monograph. Professor Fedor Lurie has extensive research on vein diseases, and he represents the highest level of the treatment for vein diseases in the United States.

Professor Fedor Lurie introduced his team's research on venous thrombotic disease in the forum and gave an in-depth introduction to the latest treatment strategies for deep venous valve incompetence and the use of devices. Then Dr. Liu Wei from Vascular Surgery Department reported two cases of vein diseases. Experts from Xijing Hospital, Tangdu Hospital, Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Chang’an Hospital had further exchanges with professor Fedor Lurie on the cases.

The convening of this forum marks that the Vascular Surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University has been fully recognized by international counterparts in the field of vein disease treatment and research, and has greatly improved the treatment level and research capability in the field of vein diseases in Shaanxi Province and even the entire northwestern region.
