On the morning of February 23, 2023, the start-up ceremony of the 4th-generation Da Vinci Robot XI was held in the meeting room of Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Vice President Liu Qingguang, Assistant-to-President Han Jianfeng, Directors of different surgery departments, Nursing Team from Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and members of Da Vinci Specialist Team attended the ceremony.
The start-up ceremony was chaired by Zhang Linjuan, Deputy Director of Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Wang Qiang, Director of Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, delivered a welcome speech,stressing that cutting-edge equipment will be properly utilized to promote the development of multidisciplinary minimally invasive surgery and safeguard the safety of patients.
As representatives of clinical experts, Li Lei, Director of Department of Urology, Fu Junke, Executive President of South Branch of our hospital, and Sun Xuejun, Director of Department of General Surgery, gave speeches, respectively. Vice President Liu Qingguang concluded that the introduction of Da Vinci robot brings more challenges to us. We should learn the complex system, accurately control and master the procedures and perfectly cooperate with each surgery.
The 4th-generation Da Vinci Robot XI is currently the most advanced surgical system worldwide, which can be independently controlled, thereby enhancing the stability and easiness of surgeons’ procedures. The device can move flexibly within 360° space and operate at the surgical target from different angles, especially in narrow anatomical areas, which is more conducive to high-risk tumor surgery. In addition, clear and stereoscopic naked-eye 3D field provides precise operation for surgeons.
The introduction of the 4th-generation Da Vinci Robot XI in our hospital is a leap forward for the era of intelligent and precise minimally invasive surgery, which is also a concrete footprint on our hospital’s grand journey of establishing National Medical Center and Regional Medical Center. Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine will start with staff training and scientific management, persistently improve work efficiency and drive rapid development of various disciplines in the era of innovative minimally invasive surgery.
