Lian Minxue has obtained the titles of Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician, master tutor, visiting fellow in neurosurgery at UAB, Alabama State University, and University of Southern California (USC), learned advanced surgical techniques at world-renowned spinal centers and cerebral palsy centers during visiting study. In recent years, Lian Minxue has modified core surgical techniques of cerebral palsy and hemiplegia, significantly improved clinical efficacy and reduced the risk of complications. He has performed the first case of functionality selective posterior rhizotomy (FSPR) via interbody approach in China. He also employed electrophysiological monitoring combined with intraoperative real-time evaluation of muscle tension to determine the proportion of posterior rhizotomy, achieving individualized and scientific surgical treatment for cerebral palsy and hemiplegia.

Lian Minxue has published 8 articles in international journals and tens of articles in Chinese core journals, hosted scientific research funding projects of Shaanxi province and Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), obtained 2 national invention patents related to cerebral palsy, participated in editing and translating 4 textbooks and monographs.
