In July 2022, Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was successfully approved as Training Base for Cardiovascular Specialty Nurses of Shaanxi Province. In the past few days, "Training Course for Cardiovascular Specialty Nurses of Shaanxi Province" hosted by our hospital launched in the meeting room on the 5th floor of Outpatient Building. The meeting was held online and in-person. Vice President Liu Qingguang, President Yuan Zuyi of Cardiovascular Disease Hospital, and Director Xin Xia from Nursing Department were invited to attend the meeting. Director Lu Shaoying from Department of Vascular Surgery, Director Wang Haiyan from Department of Structural Heart Diseases, Deputy Director Shi Tao from Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, and head nurses of all departments of Cardiovascular Disease Hospital attended the opening ceremony. A total of 67 trainees from different cities in Shaanxi province participated in the opening ceremony online.
The meeting was chaired by Liu Meili, Chief Head Nurse of the training base. Deputy Head Nurse Li Juanli, also Head of the training course, introduced the teaching contents, information of trainees and preparations before the training course. In this training course, 77 medical and nursing experts from Shaanxi province and other provinces were invited to deliver theoretical lectures. The training contents mainly consisted of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, specialized nursing, emergency rescue technologies for cardiovascular diseases and cardiac rehabilitation, supplemented with nursing scientific research, teaching skills and nursing humanities, providing all trainees with comprehensive specialized training knowledge. In total, 67 trainees from 10 cities in Shaanxi province were recruited, including 12 head nurses who were clinical nurses with over 5-year experience in the specialty of cardiovascular diseases as well as high overall professional quality. Before the training course, a questionnaire was distributed to the trainees to understand their learning needs and professional knowledge, identify their weakness and problems and specifically resolve these issues during the training session.
Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department, President Yuan Zuyi and President Liu Qingguang delivered speeches, respectively. Fu Hua, Head Nurse from Xi 'an People's Hospital (Xi’an Fourth Hospital), gave an online speech as a trainee representative, stressing that she would study hard, constantly improve theoretical and professional skills and strive to become a qualified nurse in the cardiovascular disease specialist.
Chief Head Nurse Liu Meili delivered a concluding speech. Training Base for Cardiovascular Specialty Nurses of Shaanxi Province not only signifies the approval of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province for the cardiovascular nursing level in our hospital, but also drives the advancement of this specialty. The training base will deliver professional training and make persistent efforts to accelerate the improvement of the cardiovascular nursing level of Shaanxi province!
