Northwest Cognition College Online Training in conjunction with Cognitive Disorders Group of Neurology Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association Meeting are held

To enhance the diagnostic and treatment levels of cognitive disorders in China, National Health Commission launched the application and evaluation work of "Capacity Building of Diagnosis and Treatment of Cognitive Disorders" and "Medical Center for Cognitive Disorders" in 2021, which are rapidly advancing. To assist hospitals at all levels to complete the application process and prepare for subsequent evaluation, Northwest Cognition College organized an online special training on April 28. Experts and professors on the construction of National Medical Center for Cognitive Disorders were invited to interpret the construction plans and evaluation standards and share their successful experiences. Nearly 100 professionals from Shaanxi province and other regions who were interested in the application of "Medical Center for Cognitive Disorders" attended the training session.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Qu Qiumin from Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Prestigious experts and professors in the field of cognitive disorders nationwide were invited to give lectures. Professor Tang Yi from Department of Neurology of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University interpreted the Construction Plans and Evaluation Standards of National Medical Center for Cognitive Disorders, introduced the significance of cognitive center construction in details, and encouraged qualified centers to actively apply for the cognitive center. To assist hospitals at all levels to successfully complete the application process, Professor Zhang Junjian from Department of Neurology of Central South Hospital of Wuhan University, Professor Du Yifeng from Department of Neurology of Shandong Provincial Hospital and Associate Professor Wang Jin from our hospital shared their experiences in the construction of national core advanced medical center for cognitive disorders. Finally, all participants had a heated discussion on the problems and issues related to the construction of cognitive center.

The success of this meeting provides strong support for medical institutions at all levels to apply for Medical Center for Cognitive Disorders, strengthens regional cooperation, plays a significant role in driving the construction of medical centers for cognitive disorders at all levels in northwest China, and will surely bring benefits to more patients with cognitive disorders.
