On November 6, 2021, the 16th Xi 'an International Forum on Urology (16th XIFU) in conjunction with the 6th Editorial Board Meeting of Journal of Modern Urology and the 2nd Xi 'an International Translational Medicine Summit Forum launched in Xi 'an.
The meeting was held both online and offline. Distinguished experts and scholars at home and abroad were invited to focus on the clinical diagnosis, treatment and basic research of urinary system diseases. The meeting consisted of multiple sub-venues including urinary system tumors, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary control, andrology and pediatric urology, upper urinary tract plastic surgery, adrenal surgery, urinary intervention and translational medicine summit forum,etc.
Professor Zhang Xu from General Hospital of PLA, Professor Huang Yiran from Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Huang Jiaoti from Duke University, Professor Guo Jun from Beijing Cancer Hospital and other experts were invited to deliver academic lectures, covering the research progress upon the combination of medicine and engineering, tumor pathology and immunotherapy,etc.
During the 2nd Xi 'an International Translational Medicine Summit Forum, multiple scholars receiving the honorary titles of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars from Naval Medical University, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, Xiamen University, Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Pharmaceutical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) gathered to discuss the basic and translational progress on urinary tumors.
During the oncology sub-venue, Professor Xing Nianzeng from Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Chen Xingfa from the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and other experts were invited to participate in the debate regarding the representative hot topics in the field of urological oncology.
In the prostate sub-venue, the latest progress on minimally invasive laser treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, prevention and treatment of postoperative complications and therapeutic strategies of recurrence were discussed.
During the urinary control sub-venue, Professor Liao Limin from Beijing Bo’ai Hospital of China Rehabilitation Research Center, Professor Lyu Jianwei from Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and alternative experts were specially invited to give speeches, covering sacral nerve regulation, iatrogenic male incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse, vesicovaginal fistula, enuresis, pelvic pain syndrome and stress urinary incontinence. The experts exchanged ideas about the latest progress and shared clinical experience.
In the andrology and pediatrics sub-venue, Professor Deng Chunhua from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Zhang Weiping from Beijing Children's Hospital of Capital Medical University and other experts discussed the present situation of andrology diseases, the application of diagnosis and treatment equipment and diagnosis and treatment progress on children's exocrine secretion, and summarized surgical experience.
During the upper urinary tract plastic surgery, adrenal surgery, interventional urology sub-venues, Professor Li Xuesong from Peking University First Hospital, Professor Jiang Shaobo from Shandong Provincial Hospital and other domestic experts were invited to exchange academic viewpoints upon vascular interventional therapy of urinary diseases, hypertension and adrenal surgery, the diagnostic value of AVS in primary aldosteronism, research progress on the upper urinary tract repair and reconstruction surgery, hydronephrosis in infants and children,etc.
A total of more than12,000 participants attended the meeting online and offline.
