On September 3, the appointment ceremony of Professor Liu Yajun was held in Science and Education Building of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU).
Chen Teng, Party Secretary of XJTU Health Science Center, Lyu Yi, Assistant-to-President of XJTU and President of our hospital, He Jiankang, Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Manufacturing Systems Engineering of XJTU, Chen Jinghong, Director of Institute of Endemic Diseases, XJTU Health Science Center, Guo Baolin, Director of Center for Biomedical Polymer Materials, Frontier Institute of Science and Technology of XJTU, Chen Yongnan, Vice President of School of Materials Science and Engineering of Chang 'an University, Zhang Zhao, Vice President of 521 Hospital of Norinco Group, Ding Yong, Director of Department of Joint Surgery of Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University, Gong Liqun, Deputy Director of Department of Orthopedics of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and physicians and nurses from Department of Orthopedics of our hospital attended the ceremony. Vice President Ma Xiancang presided over the appointment ceremony.
President Lyu Yi stated that Professor Liu Yajun took up the post in Health Commission of Shaanxi Province. Professor Liu Yajun is a prestigious expert in the field of spine surgery in China, specializing in the pathogenesis of orthopedic degenerative diseases and novel technologies of minimally invasive intelligent treatment. Subsequently, President Lyu Yi introduced the progress of the construction of national and regional medical centers and the development history of Department of Orthopedics of our hospital, and highly appreciated Professor Liu Yajun for his assistance and support to the construction of national and regional medical centers of our hospital. The joining of Professor Liu Yajun will significantly affect the development of Department of Orthopedics, expand and strengthen the orthopedics discipline, and contribute to the construction of national and regional medical centers of our hospital.
Subsequently, President Lyu Yi presented the Certificate of Appointment of our hospital to Professor Liu Yajun.
Professor Liu Yajun illustrated that during his work in Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, he received tremendous assistance and care from the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, and established close bond with our hospital. He appreciated XJTU and the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU for providing high-level learning opportunities and platforms. Department of Orthopedics of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU has an excellent tradition and sufficient energy. He believed that Department of Orthopedics will achieve significant progresses with the joint efforts of all staff, making greater contributions to the development of health industry in Shaanxi province and even Northwest China.
On behalf of XJTU Health Science Center, Party Secretary Chen Teng welcomed and thanked Professor Liu Yajun for joining the big family. He hoped that our hospital can grasp the opportunity of the joining of Professor Liu Yajun to deepen the integration in all directions, strengthen mutual exchanges, generate innovative achievements, continually improve the medical level and contribute to the construction of healthy China.
After the appointment ceremony, Yin Zhanhai, Deputy Director of Department of Orthopedics, introduced the development and advantages of Department of Orthopedics in our hospital. Professor Liu Yajun was invited to deliver an intriguing lecture entitled "Inheritance and Innovation—Reflection and Thinking on the Development of Orthopedics Discipline", and conducted heated academic discussion with the audience.
