According to the requirements of Guiding Opinions on Standardizing the Construction of Sub-centers of National Clinical Research Center (GKBS [2019] No.107) proposed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases issued the Notification of Regional Sub-centers of National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (Chinese PLA General Hospital) to its core and grass-roots network affiliations in February this year. As the core network affiliation, Department of Geriatrics 1 of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) took the lead in organizing the application process. Due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the application procedure was completed online. National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (Chinese PLA General Hospital) has conducted formal examination, qualification examination, expert examination, director discussion on all applicant hospitals nationwide. Our hospital was finally granted as one of the first-batch 27 regional sub-centers, also the only hospital in Shaanxi Province. The sub-center will not only provide health maintenance, medical treatment and professional care for the elderly in western China, but also actively build up a "national center", expand more branches, utilize "Internet+medical health"and carry out geriatrics-related clinical research, striving to enhance the influence of geriatrics discipline.
