At the invitation of "COVID-19 Frontline" of CGTN, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) shared China's experience in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 with Zambia via video conferencing on May 13.

Yan Hong, Vice President of XJTU, expressed in his speech that the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU is the pioneer of medical services in northwest China. As a designated hospital for COVID-19 patients, the hospital has accumulated abundant experience in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. During the 2-month fight against COVID-19 in Wuhan, President Shi Bingyin and his team members provided precise medical services for COVID-19 patients and accumulated enormous experience in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. He hoped that China and Zambia can make joint efforts to defeat the virus.
Yao Hongjuan delivered a speech. She stated that since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Chinese government has taken the most effective prevention and control measures. At present, the pandemic is under control, and people's life is back to normal and students are back to school in Shaanxi Province. Zambia and China share the traditional friendship. We are paying intense attention to the situation of COVID-19 in Zambia, and we must put our hands together and will get through it together.
Dr. Kennedy Malama stressed that it is extremely necessary to hold such experience exchange conference on COVID-19 prevention and treatment for medical experts from China and Zambia. Dr. Mzaza Nthele highlighted that China has made outstanding contributions to the fight against COVID-19 and has achieved phased victories. However, the number of COVID-19 cases has been significantly surging in Zambia and he hoped to learn more experience in COVID-19 prevention and treatment from Chinese experts via this video conference.
Subsequently, President Shi Bingyin delivered a report entitled "Management of Critically Ill COVID-19 Patients ", primarily sharing the valuable experience accumulated by the National Medical Team members from the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU during the treatment of patients with severe COVID-19 in Wuhan. He also shared the experience in the clinical management of critically ill patients with severeCOVID-19 admitted to our hospital. He expected to pass on China's experience in COVID-19 prevention and control to the Zambian government and health workers, especially the medical staff on the frontline, aiming to provide assistance to the COVID-19 prevention and control in Zambia.
Medical experts from our hospital shared experience with Zambian health workers in the prevention and control of COVID-19, hospital process management and drug treatment,etc. Besides, they also delivered in-depth interpretation of the recovery criteria for COVID-19 patients, personal protection standards for medical staff and clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in treating COVID-19,etc.
