From January 13 to 14, 2020, the 3rd National Training & Visiting Course on Construction of Prevention and Treatment Capacity for Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis was successfully held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). The training & visiting course was presided over by Li Hongxia, Deputy Director of Medical Department. Liu Qingguang, Vice President of our hospital and Tian Hongyan, Director of Department of Peripheral Vessel attended and delivered speeches. A total of 43 trainees from 14 well-known hospitals in 8 provinces participated in the training & visiting course.
Vice President Liu Qingguang stressed that many deficiencies still exist in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Through this training & visiting course, an individualized and complete prevention and treatment system should be established as soon as possible to gradually elevate the capabilities of medical institutions at all levels to deal with VTE in a hierachical and radiative pattern.
Director Tian Hongyan expressed that the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU is the first national demonstration training base for thrombus prevention and treatment granted by Professional Committee of Thrombus Prevention and Treatment of China Health Promotion Foundation. It is also one of the first-batch Ten Excellent Affiliations for VTE in China. It has a professional team for multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of VTE, which integrates the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of VTE. It has established a two-way referral mechanism for multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of VTE and set up a green channel for emergent management of high-risk pulmonary embolism. The prevention and treatment of VTE of our hospital have reached advanced levels at home and abroad.
This training & visiting course consists of 35 classes on 5 major topics including medical treatment, nursing care, management, application of technology and multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of VTE. A total of 12 departments attended the course. The trainees visited four key departments including Department of Peripheral Vessel, Department of Orthopaedics and Interventional Operation Room to learn the system construction, integrated prevention and treatment process of medical care, emergency green channel and information construction,etc.
Director Tian Hongyan gave a summary of the visiting process, hoping that thrombus prevention experts from all regional institutions can extensively communicate, work together, learn from each other and jointly contribute to the smooth implementation of VTE prevention and control work. The representative trainee added that through teaching course and hospital visiting, they can have a faster, more systematic and more comprehensive understanding of the construction of thrombus prevention and control system and VTE prevention and control knowledge. Finally, Director Tian Hongyan and the working staff presented the graduation certificates and posed for a group photo with trainees from each hospital.
