Recently, "National Ideological and Political Case Database of Clinical Medicine Major Courses in Higher Medical Education" organized by People's Health Publishing House, and chief-compiled by Zhong Nanshan, Li Lanjuan and other Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) members was officially launched. The ideological and political case base is divided according to different majors and specialties, which meets the needs of the times and teaching, and has important pioneering value in the field of higher medical education in China. The case database of “Psychiatry” was chief-compiled by Liu Zhongchun, Vice President of Wuhan University People's Hospital, and Professor Wang Xiaoping, Director of Mental Health Institute of Central South University. Teachers from many key universities and disciplines in China, such as Peking University, Sichuan University, Central South University, Wuhan University and Xi'an Jiaotong University, actively participated in compilation. As one of the editorial board members, Zhou Lina, Deputy Director of Department of Psychiatry was in charge of the contents of two chapters, which were successfully selected into the case database.

The case database consists of 7 major ideological and political themes: political literacy, professional literacy, scientific literacy, moral literacy, cultural literacy, rule of law literacy and psychological literacy, which is of significance to the ideological and political construction of higher medical education courses in China. The release of the ideological and political case database can provide authoritative, demonstrative and practical case resources for national medical colleges and universities, effectively promote the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, accelerate the connotation of medical education, and help cultivate high-quality medical talents.

Deputy Director Zhou Lina was in charge of two chapters entitled “Traditional Chinese medicine classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorders” and “Measures for preventing and intervening depression during pregnancy and childbirth in China”, which were successfully selected. The chapter entitled “Traditional Chinese medicine classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorders” is closely combined with the chapter of "Classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorders", introducing the classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorders in ancient Chinese medicine in a simple way, analyzing the similarities and differences and advantages of diagnostic criteria of Chinese and western medicine, and stimulating students' interests in traditional medicine. The chapter of “Measures for preventing and intervening depression during pregnancy and childbirth in China” intimately adheres to the contents of "Mental or behavioral disorders related to pregnancy, childbirth or puerperium" and illustrates a series of strategies in the prevention and intervention of maternal depression in China, which helps students to understand relevant policies of maternal depression in China in the new era.
