On the morning of September 7, 2024, "Chang'an Pancreas Week-Surgery & Endoscopy Forum" organized by the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was held in Xi'an. Hao Jihui, President of Tianjin Medical University and President of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital, Li Xun, Chairman of Pancreatic Disease Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice President of Lanzhou University and President of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Yang Yinmo, President of Peking University First Hospital, Zhou Wence, President of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, Zhang Taiping from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chairman of Pancreatic Disease Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association, and prestigious experts in the field of pancreas and endoscopy at home and abroad were invited to attend the forum.
Zhao Wen, second-level inspector from Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, Xue Gang, General Secretary of Shaanxi Anti-Cancer Association, Lyu Yi, President of FAH, Wu Zheng, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of FAH, and Sun Hao, Party Secretary of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of FAH, delivered speeches, respectively. Chen Xiaoping, Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology delivered a video to congratulate the opening of this forum.
At the launching ceremony of Pancreatic Cancer Quality Control Center of National Cancer Center, Hao Jihui stressed that Department of Pancreatic Surgery of FAH is the only Pancreatic Cancer Quality Control Center in Shaanxi province, hoping that it can play a leading and exemplary role in northwest China and better promote the overall diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases in this region.
Department of Pancreatic Surgery of FAH joined hands with 16 hospitals in northwest China to establish the "Pancreatic Disease Center of XJTU". Wang Zheng, Assistant-to-President of FAH, highlighted that the establishment of "Pancreatic Disease Center of XJTU" will fully integrate resources, promote widespread distribution of high-quality resources, improve diagnosis and treatment levels of pancreatic diseases, and better serve patients in the western region. Wu Zheng indicated that FAH, as the founder of "Pancreatic Disease Center of XJTU", will play a leading role in elevating the diagnosis and treatment levels of pancreatic diseases in the western region, cooperate with other institutions to promote standardized, precise and whole-course development of diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases, and finally enable patients with pancreatic diseases in this region to obtain more health benefits.
Professor Peng Chenghong, Director of Pancreatic Cancer Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Yang Yinmo, President of Peking University First Hospital, Professor Li Xun, Vice President of Lanzhou University, Professor Zhang Taiping, Director of Department of General Surgery of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor Shen Baiyong, Vice President of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Professor Liu Rong, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery of PLA General Hospital were invited to give keynote speeches, respectively. Professor Benedetto lelpo, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, PARC SALUT MAR University Hospital, Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain, and Professor Ugo Boggi, Director of Department of General Surgery and Transplantation from University of Pisa in Italy, were specially invited to attend the forum. With the themes of pancreatic diseases and endoscopic diagnosis and treatment, the forum covered multiple clinical and research hot issues. All participants conducted in-depth discussion regarding novel progress and direction in the field of pancreatic diseases and endoscopic diagnosis and treatment in China.
