On June 28, 2024, Silk Road Health Forum of the 8th China-EurAsia Expo in conjunction with the 5th Belt and Road Academician Forum and the 6th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Cooperation Forum were held in Urumqi, Xinjiang. With the theme of "Walking along the Health Silk Road, Building a Community with a Shared Future for Human Health", the forum brought together multiple domestic and international health management and medical institutions, medical experts, scholars and industry leaders from China, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, aiming to further promote the integration and sharing of medical resources along the "Belt and Road" and neighboring countries, and jointly explore the pathways to elevate the medical service levels through international cooperation.
To promote the work of China-Tajikistan and China-Pakistan shared community for health under the Belt and Road Initiative, Tajikistan and Pakistan are scheduled to build "Tajikistan International Medical Center" and "Affiliated Hospital of National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan" according to the standards of China's grade III level A hospitals. She Junjun, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and Wang Xiaoqin, Director of Clinical Laboratory communicated with Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Cooperation Alliance for multiple times. Professor Chen Wei and Deputy Director Zhang Ning from Clinical Laboratory delivered on-the-spot investigation in Tajikistan and preliminarily determined a framework agreement on hospital cooperation and specialty construction.
On behalf of FAH, Deputy Director Liu Junhui from Clinical Laboratory signed a framework agreement with Tajikistan International Medical Center and the Affiliated Hospital of National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan at the China-Foreign Organization Joint Meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Cooperation Alliance. Bilateral sides will jointly explore the cooperation between China-Tajikistan and China-Pakistan hospitals and high-quality development model of clinical specialties.
This agreement signing has established an important platform for medical cooperation between FAH and countries along the Belt and Road and further accelerated the integration and sharing of medical resources along the Belt and Road and neighboring countries, providing potent impetus for the development of medical communication and exchange.
