On May 22, 2024, Yulin Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held the 1st "International Forum on New Clinical Advances". Well-known experts and scholars from 9 countries including U.S., Canada, U.K., Japan, Norway and other countries, shared novel progress and ideas in academic research and technological innovation in their respective fields of diagnosis and treatment.

She Junjun, Vice President of FAH and Executive President of Yulin Hospital, chaired the meeting. Through the discussion of advanced diagnosis and treatment technologies and frontier development concepts in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, emergency and critical care, oncology and general medicine, it is expected to accelerate the construction of National Regional Medical Centers and the development of health care in Xi’an, and persistently enhance the medical levels in the border areas of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi provinces. Deputy Secretary-General Cui Hongjun and Vice President Sun Zhiguo delivered speeches, respectively.

In the academic lecture session, 10 specially-invited global experts exchanged and discussed with colleagues and peers at home and abroad in different patterns, and delivered on-site exchanges and discussions with all participants with novel viewpoints and inspiring insights.
Dr. Mimi Fujitaka, Director of Japan Advanced Medical Research Institute, Associate Professor from The University of Kitakyushu, and Japanese project leader of International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy, delivered a presentation entitled "Challenges and Opportunities: Management Wisdom of Japanese Maternity Hospitals in the VUCA Era". In the special lecture on obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Amira Quevedo, Professor from Department of Minimally Invasive Gynecology of University of Florida and Member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Edin Alagic, Senior Consultant and Professor from Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Oslo University Hospital in Norway, and Dr. Lubomir Mikulasek, Chairman and Founder of Czech Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Gynecology Association, Dr. Resad Pasic, Professor from Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Louisville University School of Medicine, Dr. Omer Devaja, Director of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells National Health Service (NHS) Trust and Gynecological Oncology Training Center, and Dr. Adel Shervin, former Professor from the University of Washington School of Medicine, delivered oral presentations regarding endometriosis, pelvic malignant tumor, early endometrial cancer, minimally invasive gynecological surgery and laparoscopic treatment, respectively.
Dr. Prakash Paudyal gave a presentation entitled “ICU development—current situation in Nepal”. Dr. Jianming Song contributed a presentation entitled "Life support for surgical trauma—preliminary evaluation and treatment". Dr. Tudor Pintilei introduced the training system of general practitioners and family doctors in Canada.
