On April 29, 2024, the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held the 2nd "Experts Talk about Discipline Construction". Professor Wang Tianlong, Chairman-designate of Professional Committe of Anesthesiology of Chinese Medical Association and Director of Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, was invited to give a themed lecture.
In the lecture entitled "Key Issues and Clinical Response of Perioperative Brain Health of Elderly Patients in China", Professor Wang Tianlong directly illustrated the frontier ideas and core challenges in the field of anesthesiology, focused on solving the main problems of anesthesiology in the elderly, and deeply shared the latest research results and practical experience of discipline development around the frontier direction of anesthesiology, clinical exploration of multi-mode brain monitoring in elderly patients under general anesthesia, and precise management of anesthesiology in the elderly, providing precise guidance upon the construction of anesthesiology discipline in FAH. He also stressed that geriatric and precision anesthesiology have promising prospects and significant potential, hoping to join hands with FAH to promote innovative development of anesthesiology and contribute to the strength of FAH.
During the exchange and discussion session, Zhu Yaomin, Deputy Director of Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Wen Jian, Gao Wei and young doctoral students learned from Professor Wang Tianlong regarding the frontier development trend of anesthesiology, talent training and team building of anesthesiology, multidisciplinary evaluation under the background of DRG, clinical research of anesthesiology and academic campaign, aiming to explore the development path of high-quality anesthesiology with deep integration of theory and practice.
