To promote high-quality development of neurology, adhere to the development goal of neurology and optimize the construction path of neurology, Discipline (Specialty) Construction Office held a special seminar on the development plans of neurology on the afternoon of March 11, 2024.
Ji Xunming, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Capital Medical University, Professor Yu Shengyuan, Director of Department of Neurology of PLA General Hospital, Professor Wu Bo, first-class expert from Department of Neurology of West China Hospital, Professor Gao Guodong, President of Tangdu Neurosurgery & Neurology Hospital of Air Force Medical University, Professor Liu Weiping, President of Brain Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University, and Professor Li Xu from Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Liu Qingguang from Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Professor Zhao Yingren from Department of Infectious Diseases of FAH were invited to jointly deliver accurate assessment on the neurology discipline and put forward corresponding suggestions for discipline development. Vice President Han Jianfeng, Assistant-to-President Ma Xin, Luo Guogang, Director of Department of Neurology, Zhang Hua, Director of Department of Neurosurgery, heads of relevant administrative departments and staff with associate senior titles or above from Department of Neurosurgery attended the seminar, which was chaired by Vice President Han Jianfeng.

Luo Guogang, Director of Department of Neurology and Zhang Hua, Director of Department of Neurosurgery reported on respective discipline development plans from five perspectives: orientation and objectives, key directions, discipline construction paths, construction of specialized disease centers and unresolved problems.

Experts affirmed FAH's development pattern of establishing specialized disease centers for neurological diseases and offered constructive insights into discipline integration, talent team construction, scientific research level improvement and the establishment of specialty training bases based on the experience of respective hospitals, hoping that both FAH and the discipline can innovate institutional forms and operation modes in the construction of specialized disease centers and achieve in-depth integration, and provide one-stop diagnosis and treatment services for patients in a concrete manner.

Experts from FAH and other hospitals shared valuable experience of respective hospitals in the development of neurology, and pinpointed a practical exploration direction for FAH in combination with the actual situations, which further optimized the development path of neurology and provided a precise starting point for FAH and related administrative departments to promote the development of neurology.
