From January 29 to 30, 2024, the inaugural meeting in conjunction with the 1st academic annual meeting of Professional Committee of Interventional Medicine of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine were held in Beijing.
On January 29, the inaugural meeting of Professional Committee of Interventional Medicine of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine was held, which was chaired by Professor Lyu Wenliang, Vice President and Secretary-General of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine. Professor Ji Xunming, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Capital Medical University, was elected as the Chairman. Professor Li Xiao from Peking Union Medical College Cancer Hospital, Professor Xue Hui from the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Professor Fan Xindong from the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Professor Fan Weijun from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Professor Hu Hongyao from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University and Professor Che Nengyu from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine were elected as the Vice Chairmen.
On January 30, Chinese Academy of Engineering Member Forum of Professional Committee of Interventional Medicine of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine was held. Professor Chen Xiangmei, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Professor Cong Bin, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President of the Standing Committee of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine and Standing Committee Member of National People's Congress, Professor Ji Xunming, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Capital Medical University, and Professor Song Weihong, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered intriguing lectures, respectively. In subsequent academic annual meeting, Professor Xue Hui from the FAH of XJTU gave a themed lecture entitled "Comparison between TIPS and endoscopic treatment for portal hypertension in liver cirrhosis".
The founding of this professional committee will utilize interventional medicine as a platform to promote the integration of concepts and technologies between Chinese and Western medicine, thereby bringing benefits to more patients.
