On the morning of April 14, 2023, the general election meeting of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation of Chinese Medical Association in conjunction with the first meeting of the 9th Committee of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation of Chinese Medical Association were held in Beijing. Professor Xue Wujun, disciplinary leader of organ donation and transplantation in the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was elected as Chairman of the 9th Committee of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation of Chinese Medical Association. Professor Ding Xiaoming, Director of Department of Kidney Transplantation was elected as the Standing Committee Member and Secretary-general. Research Professor Zheng Jin, Professor Ding Chenguang and Assistant Li Xiao were elected as secretaries, respectively.
Organ transplantation discipline is one of the traditional advantageous disciplines in FAH. Professor Xue Wujun was elected as Chairman of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation of Chinese Medical Association, representing the support and recognition of Chinese Medical Association and national transplantation community for the strength of organ transplantation discipline in FAH. It also showcases the hospital's academic influence in China, which fully demonstrates the outstanding achievements and academic status of the FAH in the field of organ transplantation nationwide.
Professor Xue Wujun highlighted that he will earnestly perform the duties of Chairman, abide by the constitution and system of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation, unite all members and fellows across China, make exploration and innovation, establish China’s technology, China’s standards, China’s team and China’s discipline, aiming to build China into an influential country in the field of organ transplantation.
On the afternoon of April 15, Professor Xue Wujun returned to the FAH with honor. Ma Xinge, Party Secretary of the hospital, and Deputy Party Secretary Han Ju led a delegation of directors of Communist Party & President Office, Discipline Office, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Critical Care Medicine and Department of Kidney Transplantation to receive Professor Xue Wujun at Xianyang International Airport. Party Secretary Ma Xinge stressed that in the future, the hospital will persistently strive to build the peak of national medical development in northwest China and contribute to the national strategy of Healthy China.
