On the afternoon of February 27, 2023, the appointment ceremony of Xu Binghe, an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). More than 300 members of the communist party and administrative departments, members of two committees, all middle-level cadres, young backbones and student representatives attended the ceremony.
The appointment ceremony was chaired by Feng Guanglin, Deputy Party Secretary of our hospital. In the welcome speech, Wang Maode, Executive Vice President of our hospital, highlighted that Academician Xu Binghe is a prestigious expert in oncology and breast cancer across China, who has contributed Chinese wisdom to the development of breast cancer prevention and treatment, enjoying a high reputation around the world. The joining of Academician Xu Binghe will definitely play a leading role, activate the vitality of our hospital, and drive the construction of National Medical Center and the developmental impetus of oncology discipline.
Party Secretary Ma Xinge of our hospital and Wang Maode presented the Letter of Appointment of Honorary Director and the badge to Academician Xu Binghe. Academician Xu Binghe stressed that in the future work, he will combine the breast cancer specialty to achieve progress in the development of oncology, clinical research, translational research, new drug research and development, elevate the academic and scientific research levels and strengthen the influence of our hospital nationwide.
Ma Xinge highlighted that the joining of Academician Xu Binghe represents special passion and support for our hospital, which will bring more learning and self-growth opportunities for young physicians and lay a solid foundation for our hospital to independently cultivate academicians in the near future. In addition, it will also bring strategic changes for the system construction, work system construction and operation, and in-depth layout of high-quality development in clinical research, translational research and new drug research and development of our hospital.
After the appointment ceremony, Academician Xu Binghe delivered an academic lecture entitled How clinicians carry out clinical and translational research —— experience sharing from Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Based on years of work experience, he illustrated why clinicians perform clinical research and how to carry out clinical and translational research, providing valuable experience and concrete guidance for medical practitioners.
After the meeting, Academician Xu Binghe delivereda brief conversation with Ma Xinge and Deputy Party Secretary Feng Guanglin of our hospital, and then visited the Cancer Center of our hospital.
