On January 30, 2023, an international multi-center project led by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was launched in Department of Cardiology. Professor Yuan Zuyi, PI of this project, Professor Ren Jie, Sub I of this project, research team, representatives of the sponsor and relevant staff from Clinical Pharmacology Institute attended the kick-off meeting.

After explicit preliminary preparation by the research team and full communication, Clinical Pharmacology Institute delivered fast-track project establishment and beforehand ethical review, which enabled this project to catch up with globally synchronized kick-up speed and captivate intensive attention from global R&D department. This project is a phase II clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LY3819469 in adults with elevated lipoprotein (a), which will be carried out in 254 subjects from 85 centers across 10 countries and regions. Our hospital is the leading affiliation of this project in China.

At the kick-off meeting, Director Lu Mingying from Clinical Pharmacology Institute extended congratulation to Department of Cardiology for leading this international multi-center project, and promised that Clinical Pharmacology Institute will spare no effort to ensure relevant service for this project. Representatives of the sponsor explained the clinical trial protocol, inclusion/exclusion criteria and cautions,etc. Finally, Professor Ren Jie emphasizes that it is of significance to improve the compliance of subjects during the clinical trial and ensure that clinical trial data should be real, accurate and traceable, aiming tocomplete this project with high standard and quality.
